Jaye Herrod Durkin is an elementary music teacher turned mommy and entrepreneur. She did graduate work in Intercultural Studies at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, but put her degree on hold to start a family with her husband, Matt. Their two toddlers, Charlie and Eden, keep Jaye busy, challenged, and entertained from sunup to sundown! Her toddlers antics are featured on her Facebook page daily, so if you need a good laugh, follow her!

In this episode, we talk about how to walk through a tragedy with your kids, specifically the loss of a child through miscarriage. When Jaye received the news from her doctor, he shared valuable advice with her. He said,  "It doesn't matter what you tell them, they just need to hear it from you." Jaye took this to heart and began a difficult but hope-filled conversation about the loss of this baby with her children.

This is the hope that Jaye offers for those walking through the same:

She says, "Knowing who God is and His character is what brought us through such a difficult time."

And my favorite quote from our conversation, "Being deeply rooted in Scripture, in Bible study, in a trust of a God who loves you so much is what helped us in this situation to say God has not changed, God has not abandoned me, and why would I turn my back on the one who has taken me this far?"

Yes - even in difficulty it is God who has brought us this far. He will be faithful to walk with us through the valley as well.
